Palazzo dei Diamanti

The building, begun by the great architect Biagio Rossetti in 1493, is a vibrant symbol of the prestige and glory of the House of este. Its name derives from the 8500 diamond-shaped stones on the ashlar facing.
The exhibition space is housed on the ground floor, and is widely renowned for the important exhibitions managed by Fondazione Ferrara Arte (Ferrara Art Foundation) and the Gallerie d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea (Modern and Contemporary Art Galleries).

Municipal Theatre

The building was constructed opposite the Castello estense (Estense Castle) between 1790 and 1798 with the aim of promoting the role of the theatre in the cultural life of the city.
In 1964, after a long period of inactivity and extensive restoration, the Theatre was reopened to the public and soon became renowned throughout Italy for the quality of its calendar. It now boasts an exciting annual programme of prose, dance, opera, music and children's theatre, and is a mecca for aficionados from all over the globe.
Since the 1990s, Ferrara Municipal Theatre has been actively involved in hosting top-flight productions of opera, choreography and prose.
in addition to Mestro Claudio Abbado, a stalwart of the Theatre's opera season and the Ferrara Musica concert programme, theatregoers can delight in the performances of such luminaries as Pina Bausch, Mario Martone, Toni Servillo, Luca Ronconi, Sasha Waltz and Robert Wilson.

Ferrara Musica

Ferrara Musica is one of the most important concert season in the Italian calendar. It is famous around the world for the excellence and originality of its artistic offerings. Set up in 1989 by the celebrated musical director Claudio Abbado, Ferrara Musica's primary mission is to offer a stable home for the internationally renowned Chamber Orchestra of Europe and Mahler Chamber Orchestra, giving them the freedom to create inspirational and innovative programmes featuring great conductors and world-famous soloists. In addition to its resident orchestras, each year from October to May Ferrara Musica plays host to the most important orchestras, soloists and musical directors from across the globe.

Jazz Club Ferrara

The Jazz Club Ferrara cultural association promotes and disseminates for more than thirtyfive years the rich Afro-American musical heritage through the organization of music festivals accompanied by master classes, training seminars and conferences.
